This Panel meets most months and sometimes discusses roads safety and road policing in its role of providing checks and balances to the performance of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The role of the Panel is to scrutinise the performance of the Commissioner and ensure transparency.
A Brighton & Hove City Councillor is one of the panel members and any resident can submit written questions, including about road safety and road policing for people who’d like to ride bicycles.
Topics such as the reporting of close passes and the enforcement of speed limits have been touched on at recent meetings. Questions can be about any policy issue relating to policing in Sussex, but not related to operational matters or a live case. Members of the Panel can ask a supplementary question, once they have heard the response.

The meeting is held at County Hall, Lewes and will be streamed as a live webcast from 10.30am.
