Cranks, the volunteer run, not for profit, DIY community bicycle
workshop, are celebrating their second birthday this year. Cranks
provide the workshop space, tools and advice needed for anyone to
service or repair their own bikes.
They are planning a number of activities this summer to celebrate two years of practical community work to help promote cycling in Brighton, the first of which is an open air film night and party on the evening of June 13th. This will be a social event at which the local community can come and meet the Cranks team and see what they do at their Chapel street workshop.
While this event is open to the public they would be particularly pleased to meet anyone interested in joining the group as a volunteer at the workshop.
For more information call into Cranks for a chat at 22 Chapel Street Brighton or visit cranks.org.uk. The workshop is open on Fridays and Saturdays 11-17:00hrs.
