The South East England Regional Assembly’s transport board has agreed
to £1 million for pedestrian and cycling routes at the new 10,000 home
Shoreham Harbour development.
This forms part of a £6m investment in general transport improvements, the other £5 million has been set aside for extensions into the port of the Sussex Coastal Expressway project, a planned fast, bus-based system from Portsmouth to Brighton, and Brighton and Hove’s proposed Rapid Transit Scheme.
A new Area Action Plan is being developed over the next couple of years. The plan will have to go through the normal statutory processes, to obtain approval of the three local authorities: West Sussex County Council, Adur District Council and Brighton and Hove City Council.
