British Transport Police have released CCTV images from across Sussex
in an attempt to track down bike thieves operating at railway stations.
BTP officers have recently conducted crime reduction surgeries at stations across Sussex, aimed at giving cycle owners advice on how to reduce the chances of falling victim to bike theft. BTP PC Jerry Isterling said "The best thing to remember is to register your bike and also to ensure a solid lock is used to secure it. If a bike is adequately marked, it makes it much easier to identify and therefore reduces its desirability to thieves."
Officers and Evans Cycles have also teamed up offering a free tagging device to be fitted on to bikes meaning that stolen bikes are more easy to identify and give back to their original owners if recovered.
The thieves pictured above stole 2 bikes from Burgess Hill railway station on June 12 between 7.40am and 16.35pm. Other pictures from Eastbourne and Worthing have been published on the BTP website.
