This year, Becky is joint
winner of the South Downs Health Chairman’s Award for her
inspiring commitment to promoting a healthier lifestyle through
cycling.

“Winning this award is
tremendously encouraging,” said Becky who is also responsible
for campaigns at Brighton’s cycling campaign group, Bricycles.
“I have always cycled, I can really recommend it and it’s also a
great way to keep fit; I don’t have a car, I don’t want one. My
key message is energy reduction – cutting down on mileage and
cutting down on waste.”

Becky, a nurse working as
part of a team measuring clinical effectiveness, cycles to work
every day as she has done throughout her working life. She runs
the bicycle users group at South Downs Health NHS Trust which is
responsible for community, rehabilitation and specialist NHS
services in Brighton & Hove, and she organises the annual
Bike2Work week at the Trust, a popular fixture in the summer
calendar.
