DfT consultation on Cycling Infrastructure Design

The Department for Transport is seeking views on the draft Cycling Infrastructure Design document.

See http:www.dft.gov.uk/consultations/open/infrastructuredesign/

The
intention of Cycling Infrastructure Design is to bring together current
Government guidance and advice on providing and planning for cycle
friendly infrastructure that is already publicly available into one
document.

The document offers guidance
only and is primarily intended for local authority practitioners and
transport planners so that they can ensure that cyclists are fully
provided for within an integrated transport system.

The
consultation is aimed at all organisations and individuals who have an
interest in cycling infrastructure, but particularly those invited to
respond as part of a peer review of Cycling Infrastructure Design.

This
consultation has been produced in accordance with the principles of the
Government’s "Code of Practice on Consultation" which are included in
Section 4 of this consultation pack. The consultation period began on
13/8/2007 and will run until 5/11/2007.
